This past week, we have been working on machining the parts of our most critical module, the "plunger." We have completed most of the parts and will finish the last couple within the next few days. One of the parts of the plunger is made out of 3/4 inch aluminum rod, which we purchased, as it was not supplied in the kit. The MCM also requires a solenoid, which is not supplied by the kit. We placed an order for a solenoid and are waiting for it to be delivered. Over the next week, we plan on making drawings, bill of materials, and a manufacturing plan for the remaining parts of our machine, as well as manufacturing them. Below are pictures of the individual parts of the MCM before they are assembled and after the majority of them have been assembled.
